LOHVNJ Endorsements

November 3rd, 2026 Election

LOHV-NJ enthusiastically endorses Jim Tedesco for Bergen County Executive.

When Jim Tedesco first ran for County Executive in 2014, the League of Humane Voters of New Jersey was honored to endorse him. Since taking office all those years ago, we are proud of Jim and our strong relationship.

LOHVNJ has worked on important animal protection issues that impact Bergen County, including working with the Board of Commissioners to adopt an ordinance banning wild/exotic animal shows on county property and, more recently, adopting an ordinance requiring the use of humane/non-lethal methods to control the Canada Goose population. Jim has also maintained a steadfast dedication to keeping Bergen County deer safe. When conflicts with deer arise, LOHVNJ can assist the county in adopting nonlethal deer-conflict methods for all residents.

As the last 12 years have dictated, LOHVNJ has learned that we can always count on Jim. His office is always accessible, and he is willing to sit down and listen when issues arise. LOHVNJ looks forward to continuing our strong partnership.

Joan Voss and Rafael Marte for Bergen County Commissioners

J
oan has a 100% pro-animal rating as an incumbent Commissioner. During her time as Commissioner, Joan has been a true champion for animal issues. She is running on the same ticket as Rafael Marte. We support both candidates. She will be an asset as continuing in her seat with the Bergen County Commissioners.
